The surrounding area opposite Nong Dae is considered a high-density area due to the expansion of urban residential housing and commercial buildings. Most of the land at Nong Dae site was occupied by the locals in the community for generations and served as an agricultural zone.

The main access points to the Nong Dae site are connected to Mittraphap Highway and secondary roads linking the surrounding villages. There are also gravel roads used by the villagers for a daily commute and access to the Nong Dae swamp for activities such as farming, foraging and fishing.

About Nong Dae

Past Nong Dae

Nong Dae with clear and clean water, plentiful freshwater organisms have turned into an enclosed and inundated land with polluted water, full of weeds, affecting the people in the community. They were unable to fish due to the decreasing number of living organisms which were the result of the overgrown forest and polluted water. The urban expansion has encroached the area, followed by the problem of unadministered waste and wastewater released into the swamp. Additionally, the increase of landfills reduces the wetland area, causing Nong Dae to deteriorate, lose its abundance and benefits, unlike in the past.
