World Horticultural Expo Office Holds Meeting of the International Affairs and International Gardens Subcommittee to Advance Preparations for Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo 2026

On 3 August 2026, Ms. Kanchana Thongna, Director of the Office for the International Horticultural Exposition, chaired the 3rd meeting of 2026 of the Subcommittee on Foreign Affairs and International Gardens, held at Meeting Room 321 of the Horticulture Research Institute, Department of Agriculture, and via an online meeting system (Zoom Cloud Meetings). The meeting was attended by members of the working group and representatives of relevant agencies, with the aim of advancing international cooperation efforts and following up on the progress of preparations for the International Horticultural Exposition, Udon Thani 2026, to keep them in line with the established plan.

The meeting reviewed progress on key issues, including building construction and landscape architecture, site management, public relations and international awareness-building, as well as progress on the allocation of international garden areas—both the Outdoor International Garden zone and the Indoor International Garden zone—along with the approach to appointing a panel of judges for the international garden competition.

In addition, the meeting jointly considered the exhibit designs (Exhibits Approval) of participating countries and international organizations, namely Bhutan, Japan, the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH), the International Coconut Community (ICC), and the Arab Republic of Egypt. It also urged the finalization of participation agreements for the international garden displays, and discussed approaches to facilitating foreign representatives with respect to visas, work permits, and the import and export of plants and materials for the exhibitions.

This meeting reflects the commitment of the Office for the International Horticultural Exposition to integrating cooperation with countries and international organizations, in order to prepare to accommodate exhibitors from around the world and to elevate the International Horticultural Exposition, Udon Thani 2026, into an international stage showcasing Thailand’s potential in horticulture, innovation, and sustainable development before the eyes of the world.
